Founders note

MAALUSH was born from memory.

From watching the women in my family care —
quietly, instinctively, without ever calling it self-care.

It lived in warm oils prepared at home.
In hands that knew when to soften, when to soothe.
In comforting Chai served with chatter.

In traditions passed down not through instruction,
but through presence.

Long before I understood beauty,
I understood care.

Our roots are Kashmiri, where tradition lives on through everyday acts —
and British, where those traditions are reimagined for modern life.
MAALUSH exists between the two.
A meeting of past and present.
Of heritage and now.

The name itself carries meaning.

Maa — for our mothers,
and for all those who nurtured us before we could nurture ourselves.

Lush — the result of that care.
The way it shows up when something has been truly tended to.
Healthy. Full. Alive.

MAALUSH is my way of honoring what came before me —
and carrying it forward with intention.

Because when we slow down, we remember.
When we care deeply, we connect.
And when we return to the traditions that once held us,
we find our way back to ourselves.

This brand is for anyone seeking softness in a hurried world.
For those who believe beauty is not rushed,
and care is not surface-level.

It is an invitation — to return

to tradition,
to touch,
to community,
and to the moments we create when we choose to care

/ care becomes connection

You’re not just welcome, you’re meant to be here

Heading

/ before the world knows our name

MAALUSH did not begin as a routine.
It began as a family tradition.

Passed down quietly.
Through hands that cared.
Through moments shared at home.

Long before us, our families taught us how to tend -
to ourselves.
To one another.
To the traditions that make life feel full.

We carry their wisdom with us.
In the way we move.
In the way we care.
In the lives we lead.
In the things we return to, again and again.

MAALUSH  is a story made of many parts -
part Kashmiri, where tradition lives on in everyday care,
part British, where that care is reimagined for today,
part past, part present -
a return, shaped by those who came before us.

Its name holds meaning -
Maa, an ode to our mothers,
and to all who nurtured us.

And Lush - the result of care.
The way it shows up.  Beautiful and Alive.

Rooted in generational wisdom,
carried forward, reimagined for today.

Our community begins with us.
Our village is our ancestors.
Their sacrifices made our dreams possible.

When we slow down, we feel them.
When we care with intention, we honor them.
When we follow their wisdom, we keep everything they taught us alive.

MAALUSH is an invitation.
To return.  To touch.  To tradition.  To community
To the time we take for ourselves and other.

To carry on their care, to remember who held us.

Because care is never just care.
When we take care of ourselves, we connect with who we are.
When we extend care to others, we connect with them.

/ care becomes connection.
